Doha: For the first time in its history, Al Gharafa has won the Qatar Futsal Cup. The team secured the 2025-2026 season title after a nail-biting 3-2 victory over Al-Wakrah SC in the final, held at Al-Gharrafa Club Hall. The match was attended by Mr. Hani Taleb Balan of the QFA Executive Committee and Mr. Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, Acting Manager of Futsal and Beach Soccer.
The match was a thrilling spectacle of back-and-forth action. Al-Gharafa scored first, but Al-Wakrah responded with two goals to lead 2-1. Despite constant pressure from Al-Gharrafa in the second half, Al-Wakrah's lead held until the final minute, when Al-Gharafa staged a stunning comeback, scoring two late goals to claim the trophy.
This eighth edition of the tournament guarantees a first-time winner, as neither finalist had previously lifted the cup. Al-Sadd leads the all-time winners list with four titles. In their journey to the final, Al-Gharafa dominated Group One with 9 points, while Al-Wakrah finished second with 6. Their group-stage encounter had also ended in a 3-1 win for Al-Gharrafa. In the semi-finals, Al-Gharafa edged past Al-Rayyan on penalties after a 4-4 draw, and Al-Wakrah defeated Al-Ahli 3-1.
The celebration ceremony commenced with the recognition of the officiating crew, followed by the distribution of silver medals to Al-Wakrah. Al-Gharafa then received their gold medals and the championship cup.
