DOHA: The FIFA Referees Committee has appointed Qatar’s top international referees, Abdulrahman Al Jassim and Taleb Salem Al Marri, to officiate in the quarter-final of the 2024 Intercontinental Cup between Mexico’s Pachuca and Brazil’s Botafogo.
The match will be held on December 11 at Doha’s iconic 974 Stadium.
Al Jassim will serve as the fourth referee, while Al Marri will act as the reserve assistant referee (fifth official), FIFA confirmed.
Botafogo recently claimed their first CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores title with a 3-1 comeback victory over Atletico Mineiro on November 30, followed by clinching the Brasileirao title. Meanwhile, Pachuca secured their sixth Concacaf Champions Cup title earlier this year in June.
