DOHA: Al Kharaitiyat beat Al Waab 2-1 in the 16th round of the Second Division.
Al Kharaitiyat scored the first goal through Ali Muteb Al Kubaisi (41) and added one more through Mohammed Shaaban Barakat (45 + 1)
Al Waab succeeded in reducing the difference in the 77th minute when Mohammed Adnan Hamad found the net.
Referee Faisal Ayed showed a red card to Al Waab player Anas Nasser and yellow cards to Youssef Ahmed and Abdel Salam Masrour.
Al Kharaitiyat players Haji Muhammad Mustafa, Basco Ulysses and Mahmoud Saad also received yellow cards.
With this result, Al Kharaitiyat have raised their tally to 36 points to have a difference of six points from closest competitor Al Bidda.
Al Waab have two points and are at the bottom of the rankings
In another match, Al Shamal beat Al Markhiya 1-0 at Saud bin Abdul Rahman Stadium.
Referee Abd Al-Hadi Al-Ruwaili showed the yellow cards to Al Shamal players - Abdul Rahman Walid and Omar Muharram. Al Markhiya players Ahmed Mubarak, Hamoud Al Yazidi and Hamad Belghith also received yellow cards.
Al Shamal now have 23 points whereas Al Markhiya remains at 26 points.
In the third match, Al Bidda defeated Muaither after a goal scored by Adel Ahmed (45 + 2) at Al Khor Stadium.
Referee Hamad Al Subaie showed yellow cards to Al Bada players Mohamed Mosaad and Mami Baob.
At the end of the 16th week, Al Kharaitiyat continue to lead the overall standings with 36 points.
Al Markhiya are in third place with 26 points while Muaither (24) are in fourth place. Mesaimeer are in fifth position (24).
