Al Kuwari Participates in AFC Media and Communications Committee Meeting

Doha: Mr. Khalid Mubarak Al Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communications at the Qatar Football Association and a member of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Media and Communications Committee, participated in the committee's third meeting on Tuesday. The meeting, chaired by Ganbat Amgalanbaatar and attended by committee members, was held via video conference.

 

The committee members expressed their admiration for the substantial growth in engagement across the AFC's digital platforms. This was particularly evident during the Asian Qualifiers – Road to World Cup 2026, which achieved a record 1.23 billion views, a 56% increase from the previous edition. Video views saw a remarkable surge of 729%, reaching 1.12 billion.

 

Similarly, the inaugural season of the AFC Elite Champions League garnered nearly 1.5 billion views, a 15% rise, with video views up 9% to 469 million. The AFC Champions League 2 also saw a significant expansion of its fanbase.

 

This record-breaking digital performance was mirrored across all AFC national team tournaments. These included the AFC U-20 Asian Cup 2025 in China (101 million video views, up 137%), the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup 2025 in Thailand (221.6 million impressions, up 86%, and 113.6 million video views, up 658%), and the AFC U-17 Asian Cup 2025 in Saudi Arabia (110.1 million video views, up 116%, and 291 million impressions, up 7%).
