Al Markhiya beat Al Waab 4-0 at Al Khor Stadium while Al Shahaniya registered a keenly-fought 2-1 victory over Lusail at the Grand Hamad Stadium.
Muaither and Al Shamal played an entertaining 2-2 draw whereas Al Bidda and Mesaimeer were engaged in a goalless draw.
In the first match, Al Markhiya ‘s goals were scored through Ahmed Al-Douni (62nd and 86th minutes), Casey Amangwa (63rd minute) and Ahmed Mubarak (90th minute).
In the second match, Al Shahaniya advanced through Ibrahima Ajay in the 28th minute before Abdullah Khaled added a second goal in the 38th minute.
In their clash against Muatither, Al Shamal opened through Ismail Dekate (22nd minute) before Baha Faisal added the second goal in the 40th minute.
In the second half, Muaither reduced the deficit through Alison Howe (54th minute), and Ghassan Waheed produced the equalizer.
With the end of the eighth-week matches, Al Markhiya are top of the standings with 17 points and are ahead of second-placed Al-Shahaniya on goal difference.
Al Shamal are third (15 points), Muaither fourth (12), Mesaimeer fifth (11), Al Bidda sixth (8), Lusail seventh (5) and Al Waab eighth (2).
