DOHA: Leaders Lekhwiya played a below-par game as Al Wakrah held them 1-1 in the 21st round of the Qatar Stars League at the Lekhwiya Stadium on Thursday. Brazilian winger Michel Souza gave Wakrah a surprise lead in the fifth minute while Youssef Msakni equalised for the cops in the 44th. El Jaish cut the gap with the leaders to five points after they scored a come-from-behind 3-1 win over Qatar Sports Club. Mousa Al Allaq (54th) put Qatar SC ahead while the armymen came back through goals from Majed Mohammed (69th), Abdulkadir Ilyas (73rd) and Mohammed Muntari (93rd). Third-placed Al Sadd too won, thanks to a brilliant hat-trick from Rodrigo Tabata. The Brazilian playmaker found the target in the 14th, 23rd, 48th while Khalfan Ibrahim (71st) was their other scorer. Julio Cesar (5th) and William Souza (37th) scored for Khor. Al Rayyan climbed to 11th place with a surprise 4-2 win over Al Ahli. Kalu Uche (8th, 19th, 88th) and Hamad Ismail (83rd) netted for the Lions while Ahli found the lone goal through Dioko Kaluyituka (84th).
