DOHA: Umm Salal registered their first win of the Qatar Stars League. It came at the expense of Al Arabi, in the concluding round of the first phase. Ismail Mahmoud scored the all-important goal in the eighth minute to give his new coach Bulent Uygun a winning start to his spell in Qatar. The men in orange thus increased their tally to eight points though they remained at the bottom of the table. Al Sadd dropped two points at home by settling for a 1-1 draw with Al Kharaitiyat. Defender Taher Zakaria put Sadd in front in the 63rd while substitute Waleed Jassim equalised in the 81st. Lekhwiya surpassed El Jaish and into the second place after beating Qatar Sports Club 4-2. Sebastian Soria (9th), Youssef Msekni (26th), Nam Tae-Hee (72nd) and Ali Hasan Afif (93rd) scored for the winners while Adriano (47th and 55th) netted a brace for the losers.
