Doha: Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Thani, a member of the Executive Committee of the Qatar Football Association, crowned Al-Shahania as champions of the Second Division Cup for the 2022-23 season, marking the first win in the team's history. Al-Shahania defeated Al-Bidda in the final by a 3-0 scoreline at Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium.
The goals of the match were scored by Jesus Pascua in the 13th minute, Ibrahima Gueye in the 55th minute, and Amir Rustani in the 72nd minute.
The coronation ceremony took place immediately after the match. The refereeing staff were honored first, followed by the Al-Bidda team who received silver medals. The Al-Shahania team were then presented with gold medals and the championship trophy.
Throughout the match, Al-Shahania was the stronger and more dangerous team. Pascua scored the first goal in the 13th minute after a fantastic pass from Abdulaziz Al-Yahri. Al-Bidda did not pose much of an offensive threat during the first half.
The second half saw Al-Shahania continue their dominance, with Senegalese star Ibrahima Gueye scoring the second goal in the 55th minute following a wonderful pass from Reda Shanbih. The team's Iranian player, Amir Rostani, scored the third goal in the 72nd minute, after an assist from Gueye.
