DOHA: Al Shahaniya, Mesaimeer, Al Shamal and Al Waab posted wins in their Second Division clashes over the weekend.
In Shahaniya’s 1-0 win over Muaither, Talal M Al mutairi scored the only goal of the match in the 4th minute. Al-Mutairi produced a neat corner kick that hit Islam Al-Sharif, a Muaither player, and went into the net.
With this victory, Al Shahaniya have increased their tally to 23 points and widened the difference on Al Shamal who rank second with 18 points.
In another match, Mesaimeer beat Al Markhiya after a goal by Mamadou Lamin in the 29th minute of the match.
Al Markhiya have 17 points to keep third place. Mesaimeer's tally rises to 14 points.
Meanwhile Al Shamal beat Al-Bida 1-0 to raise its tally to 18 points. Jordanian Bahaa Faisal scored the only goal of the match from a beautiful long range shot in the 50th minute.
In another match, Al Waab beat Lusail 2-0.
With the end of Round 10, Al Shahaniya occupy the top spot with 23 points. Al Shamal (18) Al-Markhiya (17), Muaither (15), Mesaimeer (14), Al Bada (9), Lusail (8), Al Waab (6) are below the leaders.
