DOHA: Al Sailiya defeated Al Wakrah 3-2 in the 20th round of the Qatar Stars League.
In a lacklustre game at the Al Rayyan Stadium, Sami Trabelsi’s boys prevailed, thanks to a brace from Burkina Faso striker Moumouni Dagano (eighth and 60th) and another effort from Abdulrahman Al Harazi (53rd).
Former Qatar international winger Hussein Yasser (seventh) and Dutch playmaker Said Boutahar (91st) found the target for the losers.
Sailiya, who are having their best League campaign in history, thus improved their tally to 32 points and climbed to the third place while Wakrah remained on 22 points.
Meanwhile, Umm Salal continued their unbeaten run. They eked out a 1-0 win over Al Khor, with Ismail Mohammed scoring the all-important goal in the 43rd minute.
Elsewhere, Muaither SC surprised Al Arabi 2-0. Cho Sung-Hwan (second) and Ayman Abdullah (48th) found the target for the winners.
