SYDNEY: QFA President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani on
Wednesday said all Groups revealed at the 2015 Asian Cup draw are 'well
balanced'.
Qatar, hosts of the 2011 Asian Cup, were drawn along side neighboring
Bahrain, the UAE and Iran in Group C of the 16-team event which will
be held in Australia next January.
"All teams are well balanced," Sheikh Hamad told Doha media which
traveled with the QFA delegation to Sydney.
"Asia's top 16 teams will be vying for the Asian Cup title and we have
four of those best sides in our group," he added.
"I won't say it is a strong or a weak group. It is a well balanced
group is my opinion," he added.
"I hope we achieve positive results," the QFA chief said.
"We will be fully prepared for the event. We have to prepare
thoroughly," Sheikh Hamad said.
"We will prepare step by step taking into considerations who we will
play in friendlies and when we play them. We have the Gulf Cup in
November and that should be of great use to us," he said.
Qatar have never won the Asian Cup title.
