DOHA: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) has announced the appointment of Spanish coach Álvaro Mejía as the head coach of the Qatar U17 national team. Under a three-year contract, Mejía will guide the young Qatari squad through a series of high-profile tournaments, beginning with the FIFA U17 World Cup, scheduled to take place in Qatar from November 5 to 27, 2025.
This tournament marks the first of five FIFA U17 World Cup editions Qatar will host by 2029.
