DOHA: Qatar University will take on Doha in round 9 of the Qatar Amateur League on Sunday evening. The same day, Al Nasr will play Thakira while Al Aziziya have a date with Madinat Khalifa.
In other action this week, Al Thumama take on Al Maroona, Al Bida face Al Matar and Al Khbayeb lock horns with at the Doha Stadium.
In round 8, a staggering 25 goals were scored as Al Matar beat Madinat Khalifa 5-0, Lulua'a eased past Lusail 7-2, Al Khbayab downed Al Maroona 7-1, Qatar University beat Al Thakira 1-0 while Al Bidda managed a 1-1 draw against Al Nasr.
Meanwhile Al Nasr, Qatar University and Al Matara are in the top three on the points table. Al Nasr are in the top spot with four points while Al Bidda are fourth with 14 points while Al-Khbayeb have a tally of 11.
In the seventh place with 10 points is Lulua'a while Lusail have a tally of nine points. Doha are in ninth place with eight while Al Azizia are 10th with 7 points. Al Thumama are in 11th place with 7 points while Madinat Khalifa are in 12th place with 6 points.
After eight rounds, the overall top scorer is Yahia Al-Haj Hassan of Qatar University with 11 goals followed by Ali bin Habib Al-Mansri of Al Nasr with 10 goals. Omar Ali of Al Bidda with nine goals is in third place while Babi Madoni Niang of Doha and Sofian Rossi of Lusail are in the fourth and fifth places respectively.
