Arab Football Federation Hold General Assembly

Doha: His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, Minister of Sports and Youth and Honorary President of the Qatar Football Association, took part in the General Assembly of the Arab Football Association, which convened on Monday in Riyadh under the chairmanship of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal.

 

Mansoor Al Ansari, General Secretary of the Qatar Football Association, also attended the meetings representing Qatar.

During its 28th session, the Assembly unanimously endorsed Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal as President of the Arab Football Association for a new term (2025–2029). Members also elected Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, alongside Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Isa Al Khalifa, Engineer Hany Abu Rida, Fouzi Lekjaa, Hashem Haidar, Abdullah Al Junaibi, Ahmed Yahya, and Dr. Mutasim Jaafar to the Union’s Council. The Assembly further approved the membership of Jibril Rajoub of Palestine and awarded the women’s seat to Samar Nassar.

Ahead of the Assembly, the Arab Football Association Council held its 79th meeting, during which it reviewed administrative and financial reports. In its 80th session, the newly formed Council selected Engineer Hany Abu Rida as First Vice President and Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani as Second Vice President.
