Asian Football Takes Leap Forward with UEFA Approval of Coaching Certificates

  NYON, Switzerland: Fahad Thani Al Zarraa, Director of the Development Department at the Qatar Football Association (QFA) and member of the Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) Technical Committee, attended a pivotal technical meeting in Nyon, Switzerland. The gathering brought together representatives from the Asian and European Football Confederations to discuss strategic collaborations in football development.   The multi-day meeting focused on implementing the mutual recognition agreement for training certificates and licenses for football coaches between the European and Asian federations. A significant milestone is anticipated soon, with the European Union set to formally approve Asian coaching qualifications. Expressing his pride, Fahad Thani highlighted the recognition of Asian training credentials by UEFA as a long-awaited achievement. He described it as a significant moment for Asian football and an event he was honored to participate in.   "The AFC Technical Committee is making tremendous strides in advancing football across Asia through various development initiatives,” Fahad Thani stated. “The technical agreement with UEFA represents a major breakthrough, enabling collaboration and knowledge sharing between the two federations.” He added, “This meeting serves as a model for effective cooperation. The official recognition of Asian coaching certificates by UEFA marks a remarkable outcome of this partnership and will have a lasting impact on football development across both continents.”
