DOHA: Sayed Mohammed saved two penalty kicks in a shootout as Bahrain beat Kuwait 3-2 on penalties to take third place in the West Asia Football Federation Cup today following a 0-0 draw.
The match was played at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.
Bahrain, who went down 0-1 to Jordan in the semi finals became the first team in the tournament's history to reach the podium without scoring any goals throughout the whole tournament.
This is the first time Bahrain finishes third in this event.
