DOHA: The top players in various categories will be given trophies and
cash prizes at the end of the WAFF Championship, Qatar Football
Association (QFA) said on Friday.
An official of the organizing committee said the best players would be
picked by members of the media while the cash prizes would be
sponsored by Fifty One East.
The Player of the Tournament would walk away with a cash prize of $
20,000 while the Goalkeeper of the Tournament and the Top scorer of
the Tournament would win $ 15,000 each.
The winning team in the event would bag the top prize of $ 300,000
while the runners-up would go home $ 200,000 richer. The third-placed
side will win $ 100,000. The team prizes are sponsored by Qatargas.
Nine teams kicked-off the campaign on December 25.
The final will be played on January 7.
