Coach Ilídio Vale Announces Qatar U23 Squad for November Training Camp

Doha: Portuguese coach Ilídio Vale has announced the 26-man squad for the Qatar U23 national team's November training camp. The list includes a mix of domestic and international-based talent as the team begins its crucial preparation cycle.

 

The Maroons have been drawn into a challenging Group B for the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup finals, which will be held in Saudi Arabia. They will face strong competition from two-time former champions Japan, as well as the United Arab Emirates and Syria.

Coach Vale has called up 26 players for the preparatory camp. The squad is as follows:

· Goalkeepers: Mohamed Al Ali, Mohamed Hani, Muad Ibrahim, Abubakar Mohamed, Amir Hassan, Ali Ghelees.
· Defenders: Abdullah Mujeeb, Bassam Adel (Kalehera, Spain), Ahmed Al Hashmi (Coruxo, Spain), Ali Mohamed, Nouruddin Ibrahim, Ahmed Riyadh, Jassem Al Sharshani (Al Ahli SC), Ghanim Al Manhali, Mubarak Shanan (Al Duhail SC), Muad Al Wadea, Anas Abdulsalam, Abdulaziz Mohamed (Al Shahaniya SC), Mahdi Al Mejaba, Abdelrahman Bakry (Al Sadd SC).
· Midfielders/Forwards: Marwan Sharif (Al Arabi SC), Mostafa Sayed (Al Rayyan SC), Ahmed Hajana (Al Khor SC), Hassan Al Gharib (Lusail SC), Seifeddine Hassan (Al Gharafa SC), Fares Saeed (Umm Salal SC).

 

Qatar U23s secured their place in the continental finals by dominating their qualifying group, amassing a perfect 9 points from three matches. India finished second with 6 points, followed by Bahrain with 3, while Brunei ended the stage with no points.
