DOHA: El Jaish snapped Al Sailiya’s unbeaten run in the Qatar Stars League and stayed on top of the table. In a keenly-contested encounter at the Lekhwiya Stadium, they defeated Al Sailiya 1-0, with Wagner Ribeiro netting the all-important goal in the 27th minute. Al Sadd kept pace with the armymen by defeating Al Arabi 2-0. Nadir Belhadj (third) and Mohammed Abdulrab (92nd) scored for the champions. El Jaish lead the table with 21 points followed by Al Sadd on 18. Earlier, Al Rayyan and Qatar Sports Club played out a goalless draw. In another match, promoted side Al Ahli shocked Lekhwiya 1-0, Dioko Kaluyituka’s ninth-minute goal turning out to be the winner.
