Doha: Korean midfielder Ko Seul-ki scored a hat-trick as Qatar’s El Jaish moved within one win of a return to the group stage of the AFC Champions League after easing to a 5-1 win over former AFC Cup winners Nasaf from Uzbekistan on Saturday at Qatar Sports Club Stadium.
Ko (pictured left) set El Jaish, who reached the Round of 16 on their maiden appearance in the tournament last year, on their way with two goals inside the first 27 minutes with Brazilian striker Nilmar (Nilmar Honorato da Silva) adding a third before half-time.
Defender Abdurahman Abkar extended the advantage at the start of the second half, and after midfielder Farrukh Sayfiev claimed a consolation for the 2011 AFC Cup winners, Ko sealed his hat-trick with 10 minutes remaining as El Jaish confirmed next weekend’s meeting with 2013 AFC Cup finalists Qadsia SC for a place in the group stage.
