The QFA continues to promote community awareness about the importance of sports and adopting a healthy lifestyle, as the nation marks its 14th annual Sports Day, held every second Tuesday of February since the Emiri decree was issued in 2011.
This year’s events, held in the cultural village of Katara, saw a remarkable collaboration and participation from stars of our national team, including Ali Assadalla, Ismail Mohammed, Assim Madibo, and Abdullah Al-Ahrak, alongside former national team legends such as Mubarak Mustafa, Adel Khamis, and Ahmed Khalil. Mr. Khalid Mubarak Al-Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communications at the QFA, emphasized the significance of Sports Day in raising awareness about the importance of sports across all disciplines. He stressed the need to continue practicing sports as a daily habit and a cultural norm that everyone should embrace in their lives.
Al-Kuwari stated, “This year’s QFA events were diverse and saw exceptional participation from everyone. The activities held in Katara, featuring both current and former national team stars, provided a fantastic opportunity for the youth and future generations to interact with these legends and play football alongside them.”
He added, “In line with the QFA’s commitment to promoting football culture, several festivals were organized with schools in celebration of Sports Day. This reflects our ongoing efforts to strengthen the QFA’s role in the local community.”

The Katara Cultural Village events kicked off at 8:00 AM and continued until 5:00 PM, offering a wide range of sports activities, with a special focus on football. This year’s Sports Day featured numerous unique activities and games that the public eagerly participated in, alongside national team stars who took the time to capture memorable photos with fans. The events encouraged all members of society to engage in sports and football in a healthy, competitive atmosphere.
The QFA also participated in a comprehensive program of sports activities, including events organized by the Qatar Olympic Committee at Al Saad Square in Lusail, as well as the “Half Marathon” race, in collaboration with several national sports federations.
Additionally, the QFA collaborated with Khalifa Model School, Al-Muthanna bin Haritha Model School, and Khalifa Primary Girls’ School, organizing various football competitions under the supervision of representatives from the QFA’s Development and Referees Departments.
