Lopetegui Finalizes 23-Man Squad for FIFA Arab Cup

Doha:  Spanish head coach Lopetegui has announced the 23-man squad selected by for the upcoming FIFA Arab Cup 2025™.

The tournament, set to run from December 1st to December 18th, 2025, will see the Maroons compete for the prestigious title on home soil.

The final squad includes goalkeepers Shehab Al-Llethy, Meshaal Barsham, and Mahmoud Abunada. The outfield players are Ayoub Mohammed, Al-Hashmi Al-Hussain, Ahmed Alaa, Ahmed Fathi, Akram Afif, Sultan Al-Brake, Tarik Salman, and Edmilson Junior, Jassim Jaber, Khaled Ali, Assim Madibo, Issa Lay, Abdulaziz Hatim, Lucas Mendes, Mohammed Khaled, Mohammed Mnaei, Mohammed Muntari, Mohammed Waad, Homam Al-Amin, and Yousif Ayman.

In the group stage, Qatar has been drawn in Group A, where they will face Tunisia, as well as the winners from the qualifying play-off matches between Syria and South Sudan, and between Palestine and Libya.

 

This edition of the tournament will witness participation from teams across the Arab world. A total of 11 countries from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and 11 from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
