Doha: Lusail University signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Qatar Football Association (QFA) and Aspire Academy to enhance joint cooperation in the academic, training, and sports fields, in a way that serves the achievement of sustainable development and building generations capable of contributing to the advancement and prosperity of the nation.
This MoU stems from the university's vision to support distinguished students, especially athletes, who represent a source of pride and honor for the State of Qatar.
President of Lusail University Prof. Nizam Hindi emphasized that education and sports are two fundamental pillars for building generations capable of achieving local and international accomplishments. He added that this MoU represents a successful relationship for both parties, as it contributes to supporting distinguished students in sports and academics and achieving the common goals of the university and its partners.
He promised to provide dedicated bachelor's programs within the three-year MoU, including offering courses in the evening or via distance learning, allowing athletes to balance their academic and sporting commitments.
For his part, QFA Secretary-General Mansoor Al Ansari voiced his thanks and appreciation to Lusail University for providing the opportunity for student athletes to achieve academic and athletic success together.
Al Ansari stressed his optimism that this MoU will enhance students' opportunities to move into the job market and contribute to consolidating the academic legacy in conjunction with the sporting legacy of the State of Qatar.
For his part, Deputy Director General of Aspire Academy Ali Salem Afifa thanked Lusail University for its support to student-athletes who represent Qatar in national and international forums.
He praised the university's efforts in providing innovative solutions that allow students to reconcile training schedules and sports tournaments with their academic commitments.
This MoU reflects Lusail University's commitment to Qatar National Vision 2030 in building a society based on knowledge and creativity and providing high-quality academic education that supports students in their sporting careers.
