Maroons to Host Zimbabwe on November 17th

Doha: In preparation for their participation in the FIFA Arab Cup 2025™ and the 2026 World Cup finals, the Maroons , will host Zimbabwe in an international friendly on November 17th. The match, set for Doha, falls within the official FIFA International Match calendar and will be held at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium at 7:30 PM.

 

The Maroons will contest the Arab Cup 2025 within Group A, competing against Tunisia, the victor of the Syria and South Sudan qualifier, and the winner of the Palestine versus Libya playoff. Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe national team is itself preparing for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco, where they will face Egypt, Angola, and South Africa in Group B.

 

According to the latest FIFA World Rankings, Qatari currently occupies 52nd place worldwide, providing a significant challenge for their opponents from Zimbabwe, who are positioned at 129th globally. The draw for the 2026 World Cup, a key long-term objective for the Maroons, is slated to take place this coming December in Washington, The United States.
