Doha: Mesaimeer racked up their second victory on the
spin when they comfortably beat Al Shamal 4-1 in the third
round match of the Second Division League.
The match took place at Soud bin Abdulrahman Stadium.
Mesaimeer went into half time with a 2-0 lead; Ahmed
Mubarak (24) and Rahman Tariq (26) scored two goals in
a span of three minutes.
Robert Luciano and Javier Balboa added to Mesaimeer’s
tally, while Mohammed Hares netted a late consolation
goal for Al Shamal who yet to register a win this season.
In the round’s other fixture, Al Wakra mustered a late
equalizer to draw Muaither 1-1, Anthony Bassie scored
on 88 minutes to cancel out Ciamk Mohsen who pounced
on a defensive mistake in the 30th minute.
Mesaimeer and Al Shahaniya are both atop of the league
with six points each.
