DOHA: Mauthier have qualified for the second division cup semi-final after a dramatic 5-3 victory over Al Shamal.
In the match that took place at Saud bin Abdulrahman Stadiun, Ayub Al-Wadrasi led his team Muaither to a great win by scoring a hat-trick in the 51st, 68th and 76th minutes.
Khalifa Al-Naasr opened the scoring in the fourth minute and scored the fifth goal in the 56th minute. The goals for Al Shamal were scored by Abubaker Bayoumi (two goals) and Carlos Presado.
The two teams played a strong match but a spirited Muaither managed to regain strength thanks to the outstanding performance of its players.
Maither will now meet Al Wakra in the semi-finals.
The first leg will be held on Wednesday January 24 at 4:30 at Saud Bin Abdulrahman Stadium. The return fixture will be played on January 31 at the same venue at 7 pm.
