Doha:  Qatar has ascended one position in the FIFA World Rankings for November 2025, now occupying 51st place globally. This progress comes despite the Maroons' recent 2-1 friendly match loss to Zimbabwe, held as part of their intensive preparations for the 2025 Arab Cup in Qatar.

The latest ranking edition was shaped by a total of 149 international matches played worldwide, 74 of which were friendlies, with their outcomes leaving a distinct mark on the global table. Qatar accumulated 1461.6 points, narrowly trailing 50th-ranked Uzbekistan with 1462.03 points, while Peru followed in 52nd place with 1459.57 points.

Regionally, the team now stands sixth in Asia, having moved down one spot after holding fifth position for the past several months. The Asian confederation's leading teams are Japan (18th), Iran (20th), South Korea (22nd), Australia (26th), and Uzbekistan (50th). This new ranking is published just ahead of the draw for the 2026 World Cup group stage, scheduled for December 5th at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

The list of the top ten nations witnessed notable movement, with Brazil (5th, +2) making significant gains at the expense of Portugal (6th, -1) and the Netherlands (7th, -1). Italy (12th, -3) experienced a more pronounced decline, dropping out of the top ten entirely following a 4-1 home defeat to Norway, a victory that secured Norway's place among the 42 teams qualified for the upcoming World Cup. The current top ten ranked teams are: Spain, Argentina, France, England, Brazil, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Croatia.
