Doha: A comprehensive training camp for futsal referees concluded on Friday, 29 August 2025. The camp, held from 26 to 29 August under the supervision of the Qatar Football Association's Refereeing Department, was organized to prepare officials for the upcoming season, marking the return of futsal after a period of inactivity.
Mohammed Hassan, the Technical Advisor for Futsal Referees, stated that the camp's goal was to assess new recruits and focus on their development. "The camp is very important as a foundation for building and preparing the referees before the challenges of the new season," Hassan confirmed. He added, "We are following a plan set with the Refereeing Department and the Referees Committee, chaired by Hani Taleb Balan. I am working hard to prepare at least 20 referees who are capable of managing matches to the required standard throughout the season."
The new referees were put through an intensive four-day program. This included daily technical lectures held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, followed by practical training sessions on the pitch at Al Wakrah Sports Club to implement what was studied theoretically and to evaluate their progress.
