ZURICH: Qatar, hosts of the 2022 World Cup, have moved three spots in FIFA world rankings, according to world governing body.
Ranked 111 at the start of last month, Qatar are now placed at 108, FIFA rankings showed on Sunday.
The Fahad Thani-coached side has accumulated 309 points.
Qatar, also known as 'Al Anabi', are placed ahead of regional powerhouses Kuwait (109) and Saudi Arabia (109).
Iran (ranked 48) are the top side in Asia followed by Australia (53).
Uzbekistan (57) are the third-best team in Asia followed by Korea (58).
Jordan (73), the UAE (82), Oman (96), China (99) and Iraq (105) are the teams ahead of Qatar, ranked 11 in Asia.
The next list of the world rankings will be announced on October 17, FIFA said on Sunday.
