Abha, Saudi Arabia: A single goal from Yemen's Mukhtar Mowaffaq in the 21st minute was enough to secure a 1-0 victory over Qatar's U-20 national team on Sunday. The match was part of the second round of Group A fixtures in the Arabian Gulf U-20 Championship, held in Abha, Saudi Arabia.
This result raised the Yemeni team's points to three. Qatar, however, remains on a single point after drawing Kuwait in the on match day 1. Yemen had opened its campaign with a 1-0 loss to Saudi Arabia.
In the parallel Group fixture, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia played to a 1-1 draw. The current group standings now see Saudi Arabia leading with four points, followed by Yemen in second with three points, Kuwait in third with two, and Qatar in fourth place with one point.
The group stage concludes with a final set of matches where our Al-Annabi will challenge Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait will meet Yemen.
