DOHA: Sheikh Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani has resigned as Qatar Sports Club president with immediate effect, the club confirmed today.
The 55 year-old club icon was reelected earlier this year as club president; his current presidential term was scheduled to end in 2016.
He cited his departure for personal reasons.
Sheikh Hamad bin Suhaim will be replaced by Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad bin Nasser Al Thani, who was appointed Acting Presiding by the club’s board of directors.
