Qatar U23 ready for International Friendly Tournament

Doha: Portuguese coach Ildio Vale has selected a 29-man squad for Qatar’s U23 national team ahead of their participation in the international friendly tournament, set to take place in Doha from March 19–25. The event will feature teams from Croatia, Egypt, Thailand, Australia, and the UAE, serving as crucial preparation for Qatar’s upcoming AFC U23 Asian Cup 2025 qualifiers in September. The squad  feature a mix of local talent from clubs such as Al Ahli, Al Duhail, Al Wakrah, Al Sadd, Al Shamal, Al Arabi, Al Rayyan, Al Gharafa, Al Shahaniya, Al Khor, and Lusail, alongside overseas-based players like Anas Abdulsalam (Cultural Leonesa), Bassam Adel and Tahseen Mohamed (Coruxo FC), and Awab Hussain (Cultural Leonesa). The team will enter a domestic training camp starting March 12, with daily sessions leading up to the tournament. Qatar’s U23s will first take on Egypt on March 19 at 11:00 PM at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium, followed by a clash with Thailand on March 22 at 9:15 PM. They conclude the group stage against Australia on March 25 at the same venue and time.
