DOHA: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) has announced the schedule of matches for the first phase of the Second Division and the Reserve League competitions for the 2021-22 season.
The first phase of the Second Division will start on the 14th September while the first phase of the Reserve League will begin on the 28th.
The schedule of the Second Division matches - in its first phase - is scheduled to start with the participation of eight teams: Al-Kharaitiyat, Al-Shahaniya, Al-Markhiya, Muaither, Mesaimeer, Al-Bidaa, Lusail and Al-Waab.
The teams will play 28 matches in the first phase divided into seven weeks with four matches in one week.
The first week will start on Tuesday, September 14, with two matches in which Al-Kharaitiyat will meet Al-Waab at Saud bin Abdulrahman Stadium (Al-Wakra Stadium) and Mesaimeer will play Al-Markhiya at Qatar University Stadium No. The four matches will kick off at the same time at 7:30 pm.
The second week matches will be played on 23-24 September, third week action on 16-17 October, the matches of the fourth week will be played on 23-24 October while the matches of the fifth week will be held on 1-2 November.
The dates for the matches of the sixth and seventh weeks will be announced in the coming period, including match stadiums and kick-off timings.
The new season will witness the return of the Reserve League again after it was last played in the 2016-2017 season. Since then Qatargas U-23 League was played which has been disbanded. The Reserve League will be subject to the following conditions:
A- Only first-division sides will feature in the 2021-2022 Reserve League competition. The clubs are: Al Sadd - Al Duhail - Al Rayyan - Al Gharafa - Al Sailiya - Al Arabi - Al Wakra - Al Ahli - Umm Salal - Qatar - Al Khor and Al Shamal.
B - The list of the Under-23 will be cancelled.
C- Registering of players will not exceed 28 players in whole. All players will have to be registered with QFA.
