Doha: The Qatar Football Association’s Referees Committee hosted a graduation ceremony for new referees on Thursday, March 20, at the Aspire Refereeing Department. Fifteen trainees successfully completed the intensive second domestic refereeing course, while one candidate was deferred to the next session.
Jassim Mohammed Al-Hail, Deputy Head of the Referees Committee, awarded certificates and emphasized the graduates’ role as the future of Qatari officiating. He highlighted upcoming practical training, camps, and match assignments to refine their skills, urging them to aim for international accreditation.
Course instructor Hassan Al-Thawadi praised the participants’ performance, noting practical exercises will begin after Eid al-Fitr, followed by officiating youth tournaments. Graduates Abdullah Al-Shahrani and Salem Al-Suwaidi shared their motivations, citing family influence and a passion for refereeing, pledging dedication to excel in their careers.
