DOHA: Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the
Qatar Football Association (QFA) met with Iranian delegation headed by
Mehdi Mohammad Nabi, the Secretary General of the Football Federation
Islamic Republic of Iran, on Thursday.
Iran team coach Carlos Quieriz was also present along with other
members of the FFIRI delegation.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed issues of mutual concern
and means of boosting them, particularly football-related ones.
QFA president highlighted the deep ties between the two associations,
pointing to the role of football in enhancing ties in a way that leads
to football development on the domestic, Asian and international
levels.
At the end of the meeting, QFA president stressed the importance of
continued cooperation between the two sides, wishing success for both
national teams in 2015 Asian Cup.
Sheikh Hamad wished Iran 'good luck' at the 2014 FIFA World Cup where
Iran is one of four Asian teams in the tournament.
The two officials later exchanged mementos.
