DOHA: Qatar Football Association (QFA) President Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Bin Ahmed Al Thani praised the WAFF Qatar string, saying the squad has potential match-winners.
On Tuesday, Qatar A string - comprising mostly of young players - beat Jordan 2-0 in the final of the WAFF Football Championship.
"We have seen some good players in this side," Sheikh Hamad said. "I pay tribute to these players who combined well to win this tournament," he added.
"It is always good to have a bench strength for the national side. We saw some quality players in this side and how much they will help us to excel in the 2015 Asian Cup".
"We have many important events coming up and these young players will get the chances to do well and impress the fans," said QFA president.
Sheikh Hamad said Qatar will turn focus on 2015 Asian Cup and the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
