DOHA: Like every year, the Qatar Football Association (QFA) will organize a variety of sports activities and events involving communities at the Cultural Village "Katara". Some of the QFA events will also be organized in cooperation with schools and the Qatar Olympic Committee in Lusail.
The QFA continues to spread community awareness of the importance of practicing sports and following a healthy lifestyle, especially with the country's celebration of the National Sports Day, which falls on every second Tuesday in February of each year. This has been going on successfully for the last 14 years since the issuance of the Amiri Decree in 2011.
The events will be held on Tuesday, February 11, at the Cultural Village “Katara”, organized by QFA from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm where many sporting events have been planned for practicing sports in general and football in particular.
The QFA is also participating in an integrated program of sporting events, through the events that will be held by the Qatar Olympic Committee in Al Saad Square in the Lusail Area, in addition to the “Half Marathon” in cooperation with a number of national sports associations.
There will be events at the Khalifa Model School, Al-Muthanna Bin Haritha Model School and Khalifa Primary School for Girls where many football competitions under the supervision of the QFA’s representatives will be held.
This year's Sports Day events feature meaningful slogans like "We Celebrate Together," "We Are Proud Together," and "We Inspire Together." These events include a variety of popular activities and games, refreshed annually with new additions like football fields, encouraging widespread participation. The goal is to foster a healthy and competitive environment where community groups can enjoy sports and football.
On this occasion, Khalid Mubarak Al Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communications at QFA, stated: "Our annual participation in National Sports Day aligns with Emiri Decree No. 80 of 2011, which designates the Tuesday of the second week of February as the National Sports Day. This day provides a valuable opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to sports, engage the community in our diverse events and activities, and highlight our passion for football. We believe that incorporating sports into our lives is essential for maintaining a healthy lifestyle for everyone, with football taking center stage."
Al Kuwari extended an invitation to everyone, citizens and residents alike, male and female, to join the QFA's National Sports Day activities at Katara. He emphasized that the events are designed for all family members and offer a perfect opportunity to embrace a healthier lifestyle. "The pleasant weather provides an ideal setting for outdoor activities, promising an experience that will ignite a passion for football and sports in general," he said.
This year's Sports Day events offer a wide variety of activities for children and families. Participants can enjoy a range of exercises, including back-to-back 30-minute aerobics and fitness sessions, as well as other diverse workout options. Football enthusiasts can take part in various training sessions and matches, with some specifically designed for children 12 and under. There will also be fun, competitive recreational activities. In addition, a nutritionist will be on hand to offer health consultations.
