Doha: The Qatar Football Association's (QFA) Referees Department held a graduation ceremony yesterday, Tuesday, September 23, at the Radisson Blu Hotel to present certificates to the new cohort of futsal referees who completed an intensive internal course. The event was attended by Massimo Busacca, FIFA's Director of Refereeing, Jassim Mohammed Al-Hail, Vice-President of the Referees Committee, and Mohammed Hassan, the Technical Advisor for Futsal Referees. The ceremony also recognized futsal referee assessors who received their certifications after completing a parallel training program.
This new group of referees and assessors underwent a rigorous month-long training camp designed to prepare them for the upcoming futsal season. The comprehensive program featured lectures on the latest amendments to the futsal laws of the game, technical and analytical sessions, practical applications, and physical fitness drills.
Addressing the graduates, Jassim Al-Hail commended their commitment during the camp. He stressed the importance of continuous hard work, noting that the return of futsal after a pause demands high-level officiating. "We have a strong season ahead, and the refereeing must be up to the standard, presenting the desired image in all matches," Al-Hail said.
