Doha: The Qatar Football Association is committed to supporting football tournaments and ensuring their success, as part of its social responsibility to achieve its vision of being a leading football association that is renowned for its creativity in social work.
As part of this commitment, the federation is participating in the Saleh Saqr Ramadan football tournament, which is one of the oldest tournaments in the Arab and Gulf countries. After a three-year hiatus due to the global Coronavirus pandemic, the tournament is back for its forty-sixth year.
The QFA is providing the Doha Stadium, where the draw for the tournament also took place, as the venue for the matches. The tournament will start on the second of Ramadan 1444 AH corresponding to March 24 and will continue until Ramadan 21, corresponding to April 12.
The 16 participating teams have been divided into four groups for the 46th edition of the tournament:
Group A: Somali community, Lebanese community, Al-Masa, and Musheireb
Group B: Kafood Company, Kenyan community, Mauritanian community, and R.T.C.
Group C: Sudanese community, Jordanian community, Gambia, and Mates Qatar India
Group D: Syrian community, Ozil, Yemeni community, and Al-Nasr.
The Qatar Football Association is committed to motivating the local community in all sectors to participate in the most popular sport in the world, through targeted social programmes, the federation integrates football into the local community and involves all segments in competitions organized by the federation. It also collaborates with local community institutions and football fans to establish sports programs and initiatives related to football, promoting the concept of "football for all" and rejecting violence and sports intolerance.
The QFA believes that football can be a basic pillar in the local community, promoting a football culture, sports education, sports behavior, and positive values for all members of society.
