Doha: The Referees department organized a specialized workshop for the fitness coaches of referees, continuing its ongoing efforts to develop officiating cadres in line with the latest international physical standards. The workshop was held under the supervision of FIFA's accredited fitness lecturers, Djibouti's Mohamed Houssein Ali and Singaporean Jansenius Maniam.

Running from November 9th to 15th, the program combined theoretical lectures at the QFA referee department headquarters with practical sessions at Aspire Academy. It featured comprehensive theoretical and practical lectures on modern training programs, fitness evaluation methods, and managing physical demands during matches.

In a parallel initiative for development and knowledge exchange, the QFA's fitness coaches participated in a field immersion with the fitness trainers overseeing referees for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025. The QFA coaching squad—Hatem Al-Boji, Kulthum Al-Matawa, and Mohamed Gad—observed elite referees' training sessions and physical tests under the guidance of the FIFA experts.

The workshop witnessed significant engagement from participants, who praised its scientific content and organizational level. This field experience provided the local coaches with a valuable opportunity to gain expertise and learn about international standards for referees' physical preparation. These initiatives aim to enhance the efficiency of coaches working with referees, ensuring high physical readiness that improves officiating performance across various local and international competitions.
