DOHA: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) has concluded a new event that was contested by two of the communities residing in Qatar (Malaysian / Singaporean), it emerged on Saturday.
A friendly between two teams representing both communities was the highlight of the night, as the Malaysians managed to beat their Singaporean counterparts 5-1.
The new event was held as part of the festivities planned for the 2013/2013 season, which witnessed the official inauguration of the Qatar Amateur League.
“We know that there are many communities who actively take part in football events. We also know that most football fans are eager to be included in such events, a QFA official said.
The aim of this event was to raise awareness of healthy living through sports activities.
