DOHA: Q Sports, a sports management company, has announced that RealMadridTalentAcademy will be officially launched in Qatar next January. This was announced during a press conference held on the margins of Aspire4Sports Congress and Exhibition attended by General Manager of QSports Ghanem Al Mohannadi and Real Madrid Academy Manager in the Gulf region Francisco Baptista. Baptista said that the Academy will be opened early next year for a period of three years. It targets to train children on Real Madrid football lifestyle and develop their skills. “The official launch will take place on the sidelines of a match between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in Doha next January,” he said, adding “we see this event an opportunity to inaugurate the Academy. It will be an important day for us at the Academy, as well as in Qatar.” Baptista pointed out that the Academy seeks to develop football in Qatar, as there will be 17 Spanish coaches who lead big teams in the EU Champions League, hoping that the Academy will have great impact on football in Qatar. “The reason why we selected Qatar to set up this Academy is that Qatar is an important country in the sport field and will host the 2022 World Cup,” he said, adding that the Academy has 80 branches around the world and had conducted camps in other countries in the Gulf region.
