DOHA: In-form Al Shahaniya remained unbeaten by defeating
Muaither 2-1 in a Second Division match over the weekend.
Al Shahaniya now have 9 points from three matches with
as many victories. Mesaimeer are in second place with 6
points from three matches.
Saad Husain Al-Sawan opened the scoring for Al Shahaniya
in the 30th minute. In the second half, Muaither equalized
through Walid Saleh in the 57th minute.
Muaithir was forced to complete the match minus Mohamed
Lamine Diallo, who was red-carded. Al Shahaniya's Claudio
Luciano scored the winning goal.
In another game at Al Wakrah Stadium, hosts Al Wakrah played
a 1-1 draw against visitors Al Shamal.
Al Wakrah had to play the match with 10 players after the
sixth minute as goalkeeper Mohamed Inias was sent off. After
feisty battle, the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
With this result, third-placed Al Wakra now have a tally of 2 points
after three rounds. Muaither are in fourth spot with 2 points from
three games. Al Shamal are at the bottom with 2 points from four
matches.
