DOHA: Al Duhail and Al Khor played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in a postponed match from the eighth week of the Olympic League at Al Shamal Stadium.
The result brought Al Duhail's tally to 20 points, securing third place, while Al Khor remained at the bottom with four points, unable to close the gap with league leaders Al Rayyan and second-placed Al Shamal.
Fahad Abu Hamdeh opened the scoring for Al Duhail in the 17th minute, but Al Khor responded with two goals from Moayad Diaa in the 56th and 67th minutes. Mubarak Shanan rescued a point for Al Duhail, equalizing in the 71st minute.
The eleventh week of the league saw exciting action between January 4 and 6. Al Sadd defeated Al Arabi 2-0, Al Shamal edged Qatar SC 1-0, Al Ahli beat Al Khor 1-0, while Al Duhail drew with Umm Salal 1-1. Al Shahaniya and Al Wakrah shared points in a 2-2 draw, and Al Rayyan tied 2-2 with Al Gharafa.
Al Rayyan Lead the Pack
At the halfway mark, Al Rayyan tops the standings with 24 points, followed by Al Shamal with 22. Al Duhail is third with 20, while Al Sadd and Al Wakrah are tied with 19 points each in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
Abdel Fattah Shines as Top Scorer
Al Rayyan’s Mohammed Abdel Fattah leads the league’s scoring charts with seven goals. Rashid Al Abdullah and Mubarak Shanan of Al Duhail follow with six goals each, while four players share third place with five goals apiece.
First-Half Statistics
Al Rayyan boasts the best record, with seven wins and only one loss, and the league's most potent attack, scoring 22 goals. They also have the second-best defense, conceding only nine goals.
Al Shamal has the league's strongest defense, conceding just eight goals. However, Al Khor has struggled significantly, ranking last with no wins, the weakest attack (eight goals scored), and the most porous defense (23 goals conceded).

The second half of the league kicks off on January 25, with matches featuring Al Khor against Al Shahaniya, Al Ahli facing Al Gharafa, and Qatar SC meeting Al Sadd. On January 26, Al Rayyan will clash with Al Duhail, Al Arabi takes on Al Wakrah, and Al Shamal faces Umm Salal, all scheduled for 5:45 PM.
