Tokyo has been chosen as the host city of the 2020 Olympics. The Japanese capital, which is the world’s largest metropolitan area in the world and counts more than 13 million inhabitants, has already hosted the Summer Olympics once before in 1964. Tokyo was selected in a vote by the International Olympic Committee, with Madrid and Istanbul also in the running.
