PARIS, FRANCE: UNESCO has concluded a strategic partnership agreement with the Qatar-Based International Center for Sport Security (ICSS) to address corruption and match-fixing on a global level. The collaboration would seek to mobilize government support to address problems posed by match-fixing. Guidelines principles would be developed to promote integrity, building on the current work developed by the ICSS and University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne. The partnership would see the organisations work together across a range of initiatives, including developing national and international capacities to prevent and fight the manipulation of sports competitions. This will encompass methodologies for sport integrity standards and good practice; mechanisms for enhanced cooperation and information sharing, educational programmes, executive training and public awareness-raising.
