DOHA: Belgian Eric Gerets on Monday said Lekhwiya deserved to lose
after the former Qatar Stars League (QSL) champions went down to Al
Ahli in their ninth round clash.
Al Ahli beat Lekhwiya 1-0.
'I think that to win a game, you need spirit and combativeness. These
two attributes were missing from our match,' Gerets said.
'We had chances to score but we fumbled in front of the goal,' Gerets said.
'We were not really focused. We could have done better,' he added.
'It is easy to talk about stress and present excuses. But let's be
honest - Al Ahli played better tactically while we weren't that good,'
Gerets said.
