DOHA: Yemen have withdrawn from this month's WAFF Championship for
Men, it was announced on Sunday.
The football event - to be held from December 25 to January 7 will now
have one team less than initially planned.
The withdrawal was officially intimated to Qatar Football Association
(QFA) on Sunday.
The 10 teams were divided into three groups with one group bunched
together with four sides.
With Yemen's withdrawal on Sunday, all sides will be divided into
three groups of three sides each.
Qatar will play Palestine in the opening game of the event on December 25.
