Al Bidda Sports Club was one of the teams that participated in the Qatar Amateur League from its inaugural season. The team gained official recognition during the 2017–2018 season under the leadership of Sheikh Fahad Mohammed Al Thani, who managed the team during that same season. Al Bidda came close to clinching the title but ultimately finished as runners-up in the overall standings of the Qatar Amateur League.
The appointment of a new management marked a turning point in the club’s journey, culminating in Executive Committee Decision No. (16) of 2018 by the Qatar Football Association regarding Al Bidda Sports Club. This decision aligned with the Association’s ongoing efforts to explore new options to further develop Qatari football and enhance the quality of its competitions. It allowed Al Bidda to participate in specific competitions organized by the Association as part of a broader long-term football development strategy in Qatar.
Article One of the decisions granted Al Bidda an exceptional authorization to compete in the 2018–2019 sporting season, under the terms outlined in the decision. This included participation in the Second Division League and the Second Division Cup. However, the team was not granted promotion rights to the Qatar Stars League.
Under this decision, Al Bidda joined the Second Division League for the first time, completing the league lineup with six participating clubs.
