Al Sailiya Sports Club is one of the relatively modern football clubs in Qatar. It was established on October 10, 1995, under the name Al Qadisiya Sports Club. In 2003, the club was officially renamed Al Sailiya Sports Club by decision No. (34) issued by the President of the Qatar National Olympic Committee on June 25, 2003.
Throughout its history, the club has experienced frequent movement between the First and Second Divisions, facing numerous challenges in its pursuit of stability. Despite these ups and downs, Al Sailiya has remained a determined competitor—whether battling for promotion in the Second Division or fighting for survival in the First Division.
The team successfully secured its place in the Qatar Stars League for the 2013–2014 season, benefiting from a decision by the Qatar Football Association to expand the league to 14 teams.
